Est. 2008 | Home of 6x DSSL Champs

MVP’s offseason was a quiet one as the GM pretty much rested on his laurels. However, the volume is getting raised as numerous GMs have deemed 2023 to be “their year.” Unfazed is the GM of the defending champs. When asked about his expectations for the upcoming season, he went on to say,

“Winning is the most important thing in my life, after breathing. Breathing first, winning next.”

George Steinbrenner

Expectations appear to remain sky-high. And a bit toxic. MVP Insider asked how many championships would satisfied him, he went on stage, dressed as LeBron James, and said, well, this.

GM as LeBron James, Miami c. 2010

With the team’s roster staying fairly in tact, there’s no reason why this team couldn’t win another championship. or 2. or 3. or…

However, there were a few changes ahead of the 2023 season that may impact MVP’s depth come playoff time. The first change, and most devastating, is Adam “Pio” Piotrowski will likely miss the entire season as he pursues a career in pro fishing. MVP always knew it had Adam’s heart, but it was third out of the bag behind fishing, hunting, and this beautiful country. Oh, that’s 3? Maybe we’re 4th.

Adam’s hiatus will call for the GM to slide into his place where he will stay for the entire season. And not play shortstop. Management will turn to veteran left-fielder, formerly known as “Meat Cannon”, to take on more innings defensively. While Tom Brady, Nick Rizzi, and Everett Wehr will likely start in the outfield. Is Donegan playing?

Let’s go back to Everett Wehr for a moment while we’re here. He sent the GM a text claiming, what might be one of the most far-fetched predictions we’ve ever heard. And we let Johnny Rich tell you his bets.

Well it can’t be that ridiculous, can it?

It’s a Triple Crown. 🤡

He thinks he’s going to lead a title-winning team in batting average, home runs, and RBIs. Here’s where he ranked last season in each of the 3 categories:

  • AVG: .463 (17th)
  • HR: 0 (T-Last)
  • RBI: 7 (13th)

And yet,

I wouldn’t staying it’s impossible, hell, even Tom Loesch, a former batting champ himself, thinks Everett has what it takes to winning a batting title. But all 3? He said he’d bet on himself leading the team in homers before he’d take that.

Speaking of batting champions, Munch will be back full-time this year, where he’ll get a chance to take back the batting title. However, after coming back from England, a changed, new man, he decided to take on more a philanthropic role within the organization. With that said, he will be leading the bench mob this season alongside Shane White. They have already filed to unionize. Antics and disruption.

MVP Insider is excited for another year of clubhouse gossip. If you or a loved one knows something terrible about people who play for MVP, please reach out to us via our Tipline.

Especially if it’s about Ryan James.
