What a game am I right?

In a game that featured every player MVP’s roster had to offer, the Brew Crew walks away with a 13-12 victory over the rival Bagas.

Let’s run it back.

Pregame Antics:

Where did everyone come from?

Essentially every single player on MVP’s roster showed up to the field Sunday morning where the GM was quite surprised by such a turnout. Is it fun to be on MVP again?

Of course it is.

That being said, after King James and the GM agreed on the Farm Field, both teams took a 45-minute pregame warm-up and then partook in the first national anthem of the season. A national anthem in which everyone stood up except the GM’s mother (Pio is an eye-witness to such treason).

On to the game.

1st Inning:

Bagas put on 1 and sent MVP down quietly in the first frame. However, Muscles makes a ridiculous diving play to remind everyone, including Munch, that the hot corner is up for grabs and he is gunning for it.

2nd Inning:

MVP sets the Bagas down and puts on a 4 spot. J-Rich led of with a single, followed by an RJ double, and a Brady ground ball where Rich did not advance and Tom yelled,

“C’mon Rich”

Brady to Rich

Are we surprised a hungover Rich didn’t advance?

No. Moving on.

Rich and RJ did eventually score from singles via Muscles and our captain.

The follow-up act was Z-Dubs, who has been hot as a pistol came up to the plate, and delivered a bomb to deep left that was caught, but allowed both Muscles and KB to come home.

4-1 MVP after 2.

3rd Inning:

The Bagas were quick to respond with 4 of their own, 5-4 Bagas. MVP youngling, Ringo, had something to say about that by delivering a lead-off double and ultimately coming around via Pio’s first triple of the season. Pat knocked him in on a sac fly and MVP was heading into the 4th up 6-5.

4th Inning:

Bagas come back with one of their own. I don’t remember how, there was a lot going on and I’m only one person.

6-6.

After two straight outs, MVP GM stepped up and deliberately drilled a ball to right field per Big Shawn Hough’s request to bully Blake. While the GM did not hit it to Blake, he did hit it to an unsuspecting right fielder and found himself on third for his team-high 3rd triple of the year. He is then driven in by Rizz, who was later injured, but is ok.

7-6 good guys.

Fast forwarding to the 7th because I’m tired and who cares.

9-7 MVP.

7th Inning:

The top of the 7th was ignited by a “YMCA” performance from the MVP defense which was unsuccessful in distracting the Bagas as they would score 5, making it 12-9.

There was a close play at the wall in which Pio had an opportunity to rob what would end up being the go-ahead 3-run homer, but was unsuccessful AND split his stitches open.

Yikes.

8th Inning:

*Cue “What Fools Believe” by the Doobie Brothers*

After a quiet top half for the Bagas, MVP found themselves trailing by 3 in the bottom of the 8th. How would the GM and his young club respond?

By peppering hit after hit after hit after hit.

Shane leads off the inning with a single, followed by RJ. Two on, no outs. Brady up. Did you have any doubt?

2-run double. 12-11 Bagas.

BANG! Muscles trades places with Brady.

12 all.

4th of July. America’s birthday. Anybody but our Captain America would’ve been a crime in this spot.

And the captain f*cking delivers.

13-12 MVP.

9th Inning:

After two singles to lead off the inning. (You’re welcome for not acknowledging your one of MANY blunders in the field Ryan). Whoops. I guess I did. Regardless, the GM reminded the MVP star that he is his guy through and through.

A fly out to deep right center allowed both runners to tag up.

2 on, 1 out. Shawn Hough steps up already having 2 homers on the day.

Does he have a third in him?

Hard ground ball to Muscles and he snaps him out. Shawn is pissed.

But wait…

BOOM!

Snap throw to back pick the unsuspecting runner on 2nd and Pat Biemer is right there to make the play of the season. Ball game.

13-12 good guys take home the 4th of July victory.

20 runs for both squads in 2 games and a series split 1-1 going into next week.

What more could you ask for?

See you next Sunday.

Cheers.
