Est. 2008 | Home of 6x DSSL Champs

Origins

Prior to joining the DSSL, MVP’s core competed in local Stotzky Leagues, a detour shaped by CBA challenges with DSSL Leadership, and its competitiveness, throughout the 90s and turn of the millennium.

In that era, MVP dominated the Riverhead Weekend Circuit, forging traditions still in existence today, most famously “Crazy Hat Day” and the legend of Wynkoop’s Batman mask.

MVP’s Founding

In a shrewd marketing move, Mike Pisco founded the MVP Softball Club in 2008, and financially backed it with another namesake, M.V.P. Irrigation.

In their inaugural season, MVP shocked the league, winning the DSSL title. In 2012, they would recapture the title for their second championship.

From that point, the league endured some restructuring and dominant runs, leaving MVP to become a relic.

Between 2017-2019, MVP, much like the league, began to integrate youth and athleticism, mainly in the form of legacy sons and their friends.

In that time, MVP adopted a new name: the “MVP Brew Crew” as a nod to Village Beverage. It would be 2019 when MVP struck the perfect balance of youth and wisdom, bonding over beer, and culminating in their third DSSL title.

After the 2021 season, MVP changed hands from the old guard to the new. In those four seasons to follow, MVP appeared in every finals, winning three (2022, 2023, & 2025).

Today, the MVP Brew Crew continue to be a cornerstone in the DSSL as they approach two decades in the league.

Win or lose, we booze.
