Est. 2008 | Home of 6x DSSL Champs

I’ve seen the writing on the wall for a few years now, as our numbers dwindled. In 2025, it finally caught up with us, needing extras to field 10 on five separate occasions. Personnel improvisation has always been part of this league’s DNA, but some weeks felt like a high wire act, never quite sure how we’d manage running that lean but we managed.

I get it. Life’s calling most of us elsewhere, and that’s OK. Tommy tied the knot. Zach and Kyle got engaged. Kyle’s relocating. Tom, Zach (showoffs), and Pat have homes to manage. And 1 Leg is one year closer to qualifying for the 60 plus league.

And yet, despite it all, I’d never seen a better MVP.

The 2025 Brew Crew delivered with quiet dominance, batting a franchise best .632 average and tallying 280 runs, finishing with a 10 to 1 record. That lone loss? The Boys gave us a reality check on Father’s Day, according to everyone, including Mrs. Merrill, who said so, word for word.

With a rotating cast of extras, we adapted. And the regulars didn’t just hold the line, they really leveled up. 1 Leg earned Comeback POY with a performance that defied every expectation. Jon, Donnie, and Tom hit their stride and kept climbing. Pat anchored the defense with exhillerating brilliance as our rover. And clutch home runs from Ev (Bullworms) and Big Z (Boys) gave us the edge we needed to secure home field.

A heartfelt thank you to Munchie. Perfect attendance, always game, and pulling double duty as GM, which is thankless. And to CJ, who injected the spark we needed (and 10th guy) and an IQ that’ll sharpen defense IQ heading into playoffs. What a fateful train ride…

To all the award winners: hats off. This season showcased excellence in every pocket of the roster. And come on, I wouldn’t be me if I didn’t say “4x Batting Title Champ.” You know me. We know me. Some things deserve to be said out loud.

A fresh slate begins now.

On to Dugouts…
