In what was slated to be a must-watch finals rematch, this game was anything but. In late August, down two runs with two outs, Shane White, aka Steak, formerly known as Meat Cannon, always dashing, delivered a game-tying double that ultimately led to MVP’s second consecutive championship in extras. It seemed to be the start of a very promising rivalry between, what many feel, is the league’s top 2…
and we ain’t 2.
To management’s surprise, and delight, everyone who said they were coming, came, on time. The surprises didn’t stop there as the GM won the coin toss with Mullahey to bear witness. However, most of the team is still yet to pay their league fees, so we can’t be surprised by everything.
Onwards to the game…
After a few punches were thrown early, MVP entered the bottom of the 4th with more intensity than usual so early into the season.
After Bubba was hit not once, but twice on the mound in consecutive innings, MVP’s GM, did what he does best: send a clear message. They shoot box, the GM shoots his mouth to the Goblin GM, and Rich shoots 5-6 hole after being reprimanded for considering retaliation on a guy who is 90 lbs. soaking wet.
8 runs later…
Let’s make a long story short, the Goblins scored twice the remainder of the game.
MVP 13 – Goblins 7
