- MVP rainout causes someone to bitch about AB minimum for batting title
Saving all the bullets for this one.
No need to go into the weeds here, but it appears that management got this one right. Raising the at-bat minimum to qualify for a batting title has been a rather hot button topic across the organization over the years. As a result, the feeble 12 at-bat qualification was adjusted to 21 after last season.
This was announced nearly a year ago.
If you don’t want to read all that, here’s the summary: 2.1 ABs x total games in the season (10). The fact that 21 is 1 digit higher than the player’s jersey number, is icing on the cake or…
salt in the wound.
In an effort to be proactive, the GM scheduled a cupcake game against the last place Stoners during the weekend of the 4th, which is typically a bye week. This game was designed to give players more ABs, let Loesch play shortstop, and have an extra game in case of a rainout. Which we had last week. So what happened early Sunday morning? See below:

Ready to rock or not, maybe this player should’ve came more. Every single MVP regular has been able to qualify, comfortably. I am a man of the people, they may not like me very much at times, except Wes, but what’s fair is fair.
VERDICT: 21 AB minimum stays and sucks to be you, unnamed MVP player.
MVP has two games remaining: first place Boys and the Stoners rolling up down in the basement. With 14 ABs and a .786 average, there’s a chance; you just gotta show up.
Bring Wes too.
Now let’s go win the top seed on Sunday.
