It’s not great when the pregame antics warrant this much limited space in the blog. Let’s start with, what I feel is a reasonable inquiry; WHERE THE F*CK WAS EVERYBODY?!
New management likes to pride itself on the ability to generate large turnouts for Sunday mornings. You can imagine our surprise when 3 players backed out the first chance they could on a beautiful Father’s Day morning. 13 is okay. 13 is probably better. Well, 13 became 4 around 9:25AM. Simply put, this was worse than the causals against the Boys. It’s no surprise to management that team bad boy, Ryan Mullahey, was involved. Welcome to the blog here’s the game recap…
- Ginger Gang wake up in same bed together and arrive at 10:15
- Rich & Rizz go 5-5
- Zach White hitting .792
- Father’s Day BBQ a success, Kendall’s Kreations slaps
- MVP nearly blows 9-run lead in 9th
- Wes’ Favorite Player Revealed
Car troubles, eh? That’s what the GM was told by Mullahey pregame. An understandable excuse to be tardy. However, they only showed up because Father of the Year, Jay White, woke up the disoriented suspected lovers and flipped their Daddy Dad upside down. The two jumped into the Brew Crew uniforms and headed straight to the field. Or was it Handy Pantry? or Mullahey’s house? Nevertheless, they showed up.
Now while all this is happening in Miller Place, there is still a team very much short most of its regulars. As a result, MVP rolled out it’s oldest defense since 2019. And after scoring 1 in the top of the 1st, MVP got destroyed. For 2-straight weeks, the Brew Crew bashed their way to 11-run first innings, but it appeared the Dugouts got the MVP slug bug and scored 10.
Happy Father’s Day.
However, by the graces of God, MVP chipped away. Taking runs when they could and slowly coming back into the game; showing a sense of maturity that could take MVP to dynasty heights. By the top of the 4th, MVP had themselves level 10-10 with last season’s runner-up. From there, MVP had their foot on the gas scoring in all but 2 innings and entered the bottom of the 9th up 9.
By the time the 9th inning ended we had 3 more runs than them. That’s all the matters.
