Est. 2008 | Home of 6x DSSL Champs

If the Goblins truly did practice as much as Tom Loesch said they did, then it may be advantageous to start implementing two-a-days. If you’re still in high school and don’t want to read the book, here’s the SparkNotes:

  • GM, 1-Leg (Player of the Game) each go 7-7 with 5 runs and 5 RBIs
  • Crazy Hat Day a success
  • In an effort to be more like 1-Leg, Munch injures foot, plays great 3B
  • Goblins’ chirps and defensive shifts frustrate Loesch
  • Ryan James misses game because he had a gymnastic showcase

I like to think of myself as a man of dignity. I may be a dick, but I am honest. That is why I was a bit off-put when a Goblins’ role player questioned the validity of the coin toss. As a result, we redid it and the Goblins won.

11 runs later.

MVP chipped away little by little, playing some of the best softball this blogger has ever seen. Tough to beat a team when its 8-10 hitters go 19-21 with 14 runs combined. It’s just masterful. Whoever put this lineup together must be really, really smart.

This is usually the part where I continue the scoring summary and game notables, but what’s the fun there? Were more runs scored? Absolutely. Did MVP make terrible plays in the field that warrant some bullying? Indeed. Does any of that really matter?

No. No, it does not.

I could go on about how MVP looked like they are in championship form after tacking on another 27 runs. Could even go as far to say the Goblins showed a little fight. Moral of this story? A young and promising team and the league at large received a very chilling message…

Johnny 1-Leg is back.
