- GM is positive, MVP sucks, dick GM returns
- MVP looks to bounce back on Jersey Day
- MVP Foot Fetish? Latest injury report
There’s no way around it; MVP’s offensive performance last week was shocking. In fact, they scored the least amount of runs (7) amongst all 8 DSSL clubs last week. The last time this happened, John Merrill had two legs. Time to press the panic button? MVP Insider reached out to the GM for comment and his camp declined to speak on the matter.
In a counterintuitive fashion, it appears the better the opponent, the more players in attendance, and the less likely guys hit for a 3rd time. Despite all that, another issue is speculated to be the real root of last week’s performance. Seemingly out-of-character, the GM was acting positively? And encouraging players? Never again. The failed operation has caused the GM to resort to being a dick.
Play at your own risk.
Despite last week’s fiasco, MVP is heavily favored in their matchup against the Rolling Stoners who were, essentially, hosting a pop-up smoke shop in their dugout last week. Some in the MVP clubhouse attributed their lackluster performance to the second-hand high they got being within proximity.
Recreational drugs aside, a distraction will also come in the form of Jersey Day. Players are encouraged, nay, expected to participate in this time-honored tradition. MVP players can also expect a lot of at-bats as only 10, possibly 12, are confirmed for Sunday. Pending some travel and injury logistics.
Speaking of injuries, Tom Loesch, as expected, made a full recovery after being hit by yet another line drive by a Boys’ player. Deliberate or not, the injury did not stop the former GM from playing tennis the following morning. Unfortunately, not all players are built as tough as Tom Loesch, including the GM’s brother, Munchie. The former batting champ not only missed the Boys matchup, but hurt his foot in what many are calling a tickle fight gone wrong with LBI locals. His status for Sunday and with MVP are in question.
