Est. 2008 | Home of 6x DSSL Champs

Prior to the end of the 2021 season, Tom Loesch announced he would be stepping down from his role as GM. His lack of aggression in the free agent since the start of the pandemic had fans questioning his priorities amid the 2021 postseason debacle. MVP required a 7 run bottom of the ninth to overcome what would’ve been the most shocking loss is DSSL history. However, MVP ultimately lost to the Boys in the second round. While the validity of their win is in question (especially by the Bagas), MVP lost and Loesch’s run on the hot seat came to a regrettable end.

With a long offseason on the horizon, MVP appointed Alex Bettenhauser to assume immediate control of softball operations in early September and he went to work ensuring MVP had a roster with depth to take on the formidable, but aging Bagas and the defending champion Boys. With his first move as GM, Alex re-signed star shortstop Ryan James as he is clearly one of the top talent’s the DSSL has to offer. Although Ryan’s commitment is not legally binding, he’s expected to at least make enough games to qualify for the batting title.

MVP also signed another former MVP star, who found himself a home with the now non-existent Rockcats, Tom Brady. Tom hit .722 in his season with MVP and, like Ryan, is primed to make a bid for the highly coveted batting title.

Other notable additions to add both chemistry and depth are soon to be brother-in-laws in Everett Wehr and Zach White. Ev made a brief stunt for MVP late in the 2021 season where he earned himself a one-year. White comes from the Rockcats and has shown a great deal of enthusiasm which is surely going to lighten the clubhouse energy over the course of the season.

Taking all these moves into consideration, MVP appears locked in on making a deep run into the DSSL postseason in 2022. Expectations are high, but not as high as the Stoners.
